April 23, 2008 From: Favorite Hunks and Other Things  I love when American Idol does Broadway. It really makes or breaks some singers. Last night was not directly Broadway, but it was Andrew Lloyd Webber. Most did well except poor Jason Castro who did not do himself any favors by choosing Memories . With a song book as huge as that of ALW, why he chose most likely his best known song is a mystery to me. Jason will I believe be saved by his fan base and my gut says Brooke White is going, I could be wrong. It is possible another female could bite the dust, most likely Syesha Mercado, but I think it will be Brooke. I think that will be too bad as although Carly Smithson and Syesha out sang her, I thought Brooke does something many others do not do, which is show true emotion in her singing every week. So there are reports from British paper, the Telegraph that Dark Knight director Chris Nolan wants Cher , yes, Cher, to play Catwoman in the sequel to the hugely popular Batman movie An unnamed studio executive is reported to have said, "Cher is Nolan’s first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry’s purring creations." It is certainly an interesting idea, but not sure what to make of it.

July 27, 2008 From: Favorite Hunks & Other Things  After catching the cast of IN THE HEIGHTS perform on the 2008 Tony's I became obsessed with getting the soundtrack. I ordered it online and it arrived last week. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I think those who love musicals and those who love latin music, rap and even contemporary pop will love this soundtrack. Kudo's of course to the amazing Lin-Manuel Miranda and those behind writing this uplifting score. The musical is what a good musical should be, a simple story with some interesting characters and a great score. Although the whole cast is great on the soundtrack, I do have soft spot for anything sung by the beautiful Karen Olivo .   The brilliant writer and actor, and cute as hell Lin-Manuel Miranda  Some of The Heights Hunks: Christopher Jackson  Robin De Jesús (below with Lin-Manuel)  The very talented and hot Seth Stewart Ahh, Luis Salgado !
