The Bulldogs started the season strong thanks to the play of forward Kelan Martin. The Hoyas count on big guards Rodney Pryor and L.J. Peak for their scoring. TCU at West Virginia. WV was 3-0 against the Horned Frogs last season.  Clemson will visit Notre Dame in ACC play.  Meanwhile, in Big 10 action,  Michigan State Spartains faceed Penn State Nittany Lions at The Palestra in Philadelphia. The Lions were 0-7 in the series under Patrick Chambers.  The Maryland Terrapins visted the Michigan Wolverines in Big Ten action. Zak Irvin's 22 points led the Wolverines past visiting Maryland 70-67 last season, with the Terps taking the rematch, 86-82. December 18, 2016 From: Speed o Rex The FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2016 Finals were contested in Tokyo: Zinedine Zindane's Real Madrid did play Kashima, from host country Japan, with Real Madrid wanting to continue European dominance, 9 of the last 10 Club titles.  Check the web for final results. In the US:  Sunday Night Football featured the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-5) at the Dallas Cowboys (11-2).  Jameis Winston had improved, along the Tampa Bay's iffy defense so the Buccaneers were on a roll.  The Cowboys looked to recover from the previous week's loss at the New York Giants. Dallas fell 10-6 in Tampa in 2015 with miserable gains against Tampa Bay's defense.  The Minnesota Vikings, who started strong before their string of losses after their bye week (they are 7-6 overall, but 2-6 in their last 8 games)  should had been strengthened by the return of NFL favorite Adrian Peterson, who has been out with injury since week 2. From: Speed o Rex  In the USA:  NCAA Football Bowl season kicked off  with a slew of Bowl games from throughout the US.  The Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl, from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.  This was a great start to bowl season, with two relatively little know teams who had great seasons: North Carolina Central (9-2) vs. Grambling State (11-1) This is a clash of the MEAC and SWAC champs pitting versatile QBs Malcolm Bell and DeVante Kincade against each other. These FCS teams' only losses this season came against FBS opponents. The winner will be the 2016 black college national champion.  Elsewhere, the New Mexico Bowl pitted Texas (San Antonio) against New Mexico.   The Las Vegas Bowl pitted Houston against San Diego State.  The Camellia Bowl featured Appalachian State vs. Toledo in Montgomery, Alabama.  The New Orleans Bowl featureed an exciting battle between Southern Mississippi and Louisiana (Lafayette).  In NCAA Basketball, Georgetown traveled to Syracuse, Ohio State to...

December 03, 2016 From: Speed o Rex  The sporting world looks today to one of the greatest athletes in Association Football, representing his team versus their arch rivals.   This afternoon    Spain   Barcelona vs. Real Madrid.  El Clasico.   Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid, under expert management of Zinedine Zidane, take on arch rivals Barcelona this afternoon in one of the greatest rivalries in sport.  Real Madrid currently sits at number one in La Liga and is six points ahead of Barca, struggling this year.  Could that change in a few short hours?   England Manchester City vs. Chelsea should be an intense soccer game. USA NCAA College Basketball is heating up. Today UCLA travels to Kentucky.  Top freshmen T.J. Leaf and Lonzo Ball lead the Bruins against Malik Monk and De'Aaron Fox of the Kentucky Wildcats. From: Speed o Rex  So, the 2016 NFL Hall of Fame Game is  was tonight, but has been cancelled!   The Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers will contend in Canton, Ohio at 8 p.m. Eastern.     Yes it is preseason, but this means Football is just around the corner!   College will begin in a few weeks and then, NFL!   How could it sneak up on us like this???  We must be slipping around here.   Voila, some Football pics in celebration.
