Team USA is trying to make shirtless gymnastics happen and WE APPROVE. From: NewNowNext Gymnast Danell Leyva made good on Team USA’s promise to perform shirtless at the Rio Olympics on Thursday, stopping in the middle of a parallel bar routine to pull down his uniform and give the people what they want— more skin! Leyva’s teammate Sam Mikulak told The Wall Street Journal last week that the team was considering performing shirtless to gain the kind of major attention the women’s gymnastics teams get. Leyva’s striptease was part of an impromptu routine for the crowd between events and unfortunately not for a competition. However it’s good to see the crowd was loving the peep show, so we can make sure shirtless gymnastics are something required for Tokyo 2020. From: Towleroad  Two-time silver medalist and LGBT ally Danell Leyva gave gymnastics fans in Rio a bit of a treat yesterday when he stripped down in the middle of a routine. Leyva was performing in the gymnastics gala, an event that awards no medals and is merely for fun, when he decided to give the audience something besides his stunning athleticism to look at: his bare flesh. Team USA Men’s gymnastics had said they thought competing shirtless would bring them more attention to their sport and it seems Leyva was out to prove the point. Pausing in his parallel bar routine, he peeled away his skintight uniform, rolling it down to just below his waist. According to NBC announcers, Leyva wants to move to LA and become an actor after Rio. Consider this his screen test. Leyva wasn’t the only one to strip down, however. He’s the 2012 Olympic individual all-around bronze medalist, and just recently became the 2016 Olympic parallel bars and horizontal bar silver medalist. He’s also the 2011 U.S. national all-around gold medalist and the 2011 world champion on the parallel bars. From: Speed o Rex  Денис Михайлович Аблязин ( Denis Mikhailovich Ablyazin ) is a Russian artistic gymnast.  He has just taken the Silver Medal in Men's Vault in  the 2016 Rio Olympics. The Gold Medal was taken by  North Korean gymnast Ri Se-gwang and the Bronze Medal by Japanese Vaulter Kenzo Sherai Romanian Marian Drăgulescu, well known to readers of these pages, took fourth, although he had the exact points as the Bronze Medal winner....   Ablyazin was born on 3 August 1992 in Penza, Russia.  Denis was the 2012 Olympics vault silver medalist, 2012 Olympics floor bronze medalist, two-time European vault champion, the 2014 European champion .    This year he also shares in the Silver Medal for the Men's All Around, and has taken the Bronze Medal for Rings.  We wish him the best in the rest of his competitions this year!

Wearing a “Make America Gay Again” tank top, the three-time Olympic medalist (he picked up two silver this week and a bronze in London in 2012) sounded off on a few different issues facing the LGBT community, including transgender people’s right to use the restroom and the safety of LGBT people in America after the massacre at Pulse. “I wanted to say something that would do the victims of the Orlando shooting justice,” he said. “Something that can honor their memory.” Leyva goes on to discuss how the LGBT community had a “safe space taken away from them…in the most horrific of circumstances.” Part 1 of my thoughts of the Orlando shooting...
